NP but this is a criminal's justification. Whenever someone says "speed of traffic" what they mean is "I want to speed and if you're not speeding that makes you the problem."

No, the point is to drive the damn speed limit! I can’t believe how often people who apparently don’t have busy lives or any place to be, thoughtlessly back up traffic. Some people need to carefully plan daily schedules and should be able to count on drivers observing the speed limit. If the limit is 35 and you’re going 20 for no reason at all yes, pull over!

Do you even know how to read?

Slow people are way more annoying. Especially when it’s rush hour and they insist on leaving a 10 car gap between the car in front and several cars can cut in. Also annoying when they are making a turn on a green arrow but they wait for the car in front to practically finish the turn before they start. Several more cars could make the turn of everyone kept up, thus reducing traffic.

As you can see by the responses to this thread, people think they are entitled to do whatever they want on the road. You were going the speed limit and you have nothing to apologize for. Driving, particularly over the last few years, is terrifying (and I’ve been driving in this area for 20 years). I agree with you - people go so fast on residential roads.

It has gotten really bad over the last 10 years. I am not even an old granny driving. People in the DMV are terrible drivers who are constantly aggressive. I'll be in a little single lane road going 40 in a 35 and always be tailgated because the person behind wants to drive 65 in a neighborhood. People don't speed 10 over these days, they want to do 30, 40, 50 mph over the limit because there is no law enforcement. University Blvd is terrible. 35 mph limits, but people easily go 70. 270 is a NASCAR track. 80 at a minimum with some doing 100.

I’m waiting on the insurance companies to proactively manage this by adjusting premiums based on driving style. If my Apple Watch knows how fast I run around my neighborhood we should be able to track drivers very closely. I wouldn’t mind seeing bad drivers ticketed in this way.

As a former Loudoun resident. I've even had three different deer run into the sides of my vehicles. Speed doesn't matter this time of year!! This is rutt season and the deer have the brains of drunk fraternity brothers on ex!
