| Yes, you need a lawyer. No question. Where are you? If in VA, you could try: https://www.freeman4law.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjw7c2pBhAZEiwA88pOF8Y9v3KUJfGY5HNCAKFq1JUui78yLWWByl13pODBo9gm1kXYGFAIDRoCfFMQAvD_BwE |
OP—yes, along these lines. |
| of course you need a lawyer to try to make sure the restraining order is limited or not issued at all. |
Why is everyone assuming OPs kid is wrong. The side issing could be the antagonist. |
| I’d assume the other family is working with a lawyer. |
| Does anyone have a recommendation for a lawyer in Moco who specializes in juvenile issues? |

| OP, what is the subject matter of the alleged verbal harassment or threats? Were the communications focused on race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, or genetic information? Was there an alleged violation of a school- or employment-based anti-harassment policy? If so, you might need a defense lawyer with some first amendment background. |
| I’m a lawyer and I’d hire a lawyer with relevant experience (which I do not have) in your shoes. I’d especially want to know what if anything should be done to make sure my kid passes background checks in the future. |
