Ever had a drunken dinner party where secrets were revealed?

Well I’ve thrown a couple. Unfortunately nobody reciprocates.

The bad way to make that happen is to make all the drinks too strong and delay delay delay the food and pretend something is going wrong but getting fixed soon. Then feed them once it's too late.

The good way to make it happen is to rent a luxe bus and driver and promise to get everyone home safely.

The really good way to make it happen is adult slumber party!

We attended a dinner party like this. I found out my boss sleeps on a tiny bench at the end of the master bed (not in the bed with his GF). And his GF seemed to have an extremely intimate/inappropriate relationship with her assistant.

We had a big neighborhood party once that had a few wild stories come out. And a few apologies the next day, with returning glassware.

We had this at a neighborhood Christmas party once. I learned that one of the neighbors £{%<ed a woman who wasn’t his wife late one night in his driveway because the nextdoor neighbor caught it on their camera.

Like the infamous dinner party Kim Philby threw at his 4100 Avenue Nebraska Ave house? Where the CIA and FBI guys dooked it out with the future Soviet turn coats over insults. Must have been fun.

When our kids were in prek/k we had a dinner club with 4 other couples with kids the same age. It would alternate every other month and the host couple would pick a theme -Italian, French, whatever and cook the entree and the other couples would bring the sides and dessert. Since it was the same 4 couples, we got to know each other pretty well. We all drank a lot and the parties were really fun EXCEPT one wife would always push it too far, and after the fifth bottle of wine, would ask questions to the table like, “if you could sleep with anyone at the table except for your spouse, who would it be?” And “what was the best sex of your life?” Which she described in great detail, and then shared that it was NOT with her husband but with a former boyfriend.

Not surprisingly, dinner club ended soon after that…

We all felt bad for the husband, who was such a nice guy and was totally emasculated by his wife talking about other men so glowingly and in graphic detail.
