How wet is he in the morning? Is it only a small amount or is he soaked?

Is he responsible with getting them on right before bed and changing in the morning? How much do you limit what he has to drink before bed?

NP and yes he handles all. My kid is 10. As far as limiting liquids, we have tried everything from “no limits and sleeps with water bottle” to “only one small cup of liquid after 3 pm” with the same result: wet pull-up. If limiting liquids works for you, you frankly don’t have a real problem.

Same here for my almost 10 year old. They desperately want to be done with pull-ups but no matter what we try, it’s a wet pull-up 80% of the morning. It seems their body is just in such a deep sleep it doesn’t sense the peeing.

Dd didn’t start staying dry/waking up in the night to pee until age 9. A bed wetting alarm helped.

However, like the pp with a diabetic child, we later found that there was a health condition (ureter reflux) that was affecting the amount of urine she was producing at night. For older frequent bedwetters, it could be worth getting labs done to see if there is an underlying problem.

Anyone try any of the store brand pull-ups for nighttime? Any of them seem to hold up better than the others?

The dollar general brand works well but they are a bit bulky and easy to notice.

How old is your kid? If they only use them at night it shouldn’t matter too much what they look like.

He's 11 and it could have been an issue when one of his friends noticed he had one on during a sleepover but fortunately his friend was nice about it.

Did you tell the other parent he had them before he slept over? I wouldn’t expect it should matter but I’d still want to let the other parent know for just in case. It’s good his friend was nice and it wasn’t a problem.

I was hosting so there was no reason to mention it to the other parent.

Was your son worried his friend might tell other kids? Mine has never been shy about it. A lot of times he just wears a pull-up and t-shirt for bed.

He was at first but was later convinced that they weren't going to, He's very shy about most things and has a hard time trusting people after some of the things he's been through.

Mine’s only 8, so maybe that will change as he matures a little. Is yours just a very heavy sleeper? He still wet every night or is he having some nights with no issues?

It's a known genetic issue and based on family history he will continue to have issues untill he's around 12 or 13.

So really no dry nights at all yet? Does he take a shower in the morning after he wakes up?
