I would recommend at Physical Therapist who specializes in working with the elderly before I'd recommend a personal trainer. MUCH more intensive and extensive training to become a physical therapist and they have more training on what malpractice is so they can avoid it. |

All these people who are saying to go to a PT - have you actually tried to do that for your elderly parent? It didn't work for us. You have to have a specific medical issue and after eight weeks it's over. And they spend much of the appointment doing paperwork and assessments. We offered to pay PTs out of pocket but they said no. So, great idea, but I doubt you will make that happen. |
Yes, we have. There are Physical Therapists who work with elderly and come to the home. It's not that hard to find a medical issue. It can even be to work on fall prevention. Insurance will not cover personal training because it's a regulated field with high qualifications to get the certification. |
