Louisiana governor’s race flips blue to red

I’m guessing he doesn’t have one.

Biden has declared a federal emergency for this because it threatens the water supply for New Orleans. But the winner of the governor’s race didn’t make it an issue? Guess Louisiana doesn’t need taxpayer assistance to resolve this then, right??

The country cannot continue selecting leaders without reference to how they plan to address issues like this. We can’t afford it.

Address issues like what? They think climate change isn't a thing even as it destroys their own state's infrastructure
What's his position on offshore drilling? Drill baby drill? Too bad for the LA fisheries business...
That is the GOP way...

+1. Great news OP. Thanks for posting.

And for you naysayers, this was in no way expected. The Dems were busy prepping for a run-off.

That state is terrible. I work in New Orleans two weeks a month and nothing is saving that place.

Crime is out of control and driving there has to be one of the worst in the country.

Especially NOLA. Really best case scenario is the it sinks into the gulf and is erased.

No politician is fixing LA.

What? No. Louisiana is as lost as Missouri and this was totally expected.

We'll see what happens. You also need to look at localities.....
Like New Orleans, run by a Democrat with all 7 council members Democrat. Their crime rate is horrible.
And, they have a progressive attorney, Jason Williams, as DA who ran on a more "selective approach" to prosecution.
We see how that has turned out.

NOLA is totally run by Democrats. Totally. And, has been for some time now.

You keep telling yourself that, but the facts say otherwise

Everyone, including the Landry team, thought it would come down to a runoff between Landry and Shawn Wilson. That Landry took over 50% of the vote is a virtual landslide

True, and given the last few elections, that makes sense. That doesn’t change the fact that Louisiana is probably a red state with a LOT of Dem voters. It’s hard to reliably predict election outcomes because of issues related to voter turnout. (Often an issue, but a particularly critical one for states like Louisiana.)

You haven’t presented any facts.

But apparently not sick of climate change and the disasters it bring with it. Or sick of the poverty rate, the 2nd highest in the nation. Or sick of the anti-abortion extremism that will endanger Louisiana's pregnant women even more than they are already are, with one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the country. Except that last really is about black mothers and babies, who die at quadruple and double the rates of their white counterparts respectively. So that doesn't really count in the minds of Republicans.
