Halloween Costume Parties

I don't think there is anything wrong with going alone
If you won't know anyone else there, see if a friend might want to join. I often go to parties alone because we have young kids and don't always want to get a babysitter. So there are typically other adults without an SO there for various reasons.

Agree with others re Uber home.

DH reason sounds lame but I can see the party being awkward or boring if he doesn't know anyone there and hence he feels like the costume element is more awkward.

I would go alone but I am divorced and if I waited until I had a partner to go with I would never go anywhere

There isn’t a costume that wouldn’t offend someone.

Sent DH to get a costume for himself. He came back with a little black dress thinking he could get out of going. I took him shoe shopping instead. There's something your DH will want in return for going. Figure it out and go

Grab an Uber and invite a single girlfriend to be your date. You’ll have fun and maybe she will meet someone!
