OP here. Eye protection is provided and enforced it! I’m not a fan of anything “gun” related but of course my kids love it!
I think I will give in! |
| Just be clear on the invitation so anti Nerf people can decline. |
| That was my kid’s 6th birthday party. Was actually a great way to talk about consent (with kids) and gun safety (with adults). Also let me know which parents were not on our wavelength. |
This, or just come for cake/celebration. |
| I would have no concerns with this at all beyond eye protection, as noted.. |
| My 7 year old would die from happiness. |

Nope, nerf gun parties are not want makes school shooters.
Tell kids not to shoot the face/head. We’ve never had a problem with injuries. |

I’m pretty anti gun but actually hosted this for my kid’s 10th birthday. We required eye protection and I ordered a bunch of the eye things on Amazon. I had a poster board with three rules written out with pictures — eye protection at all times; no direct head shots; no shooting anyone that says I’m out of the game, don’t shoot. Each kid had to affirm that they understood rules before I gave them the stuff to play.
They had a ton of fun and totally ruined my lawn. |
| Not in the least bit concerned and probably wouldn't bother with eye protection either, although it is a good idea. |
| They are fun parties. My daughter has been to two of them and my son spent countless hours with nerf guns in elementary school. Huge turnouts for the nerf parties. I tried to get my kids to have one at Dulles Sportplex after seeing one. It was one of the best parties they went to. |

I didn't do a nerf gun party but I had nerf guns there and sort of used them as a party favor (they were cheap little nerf guns). The kids and the adults had a blast. I would love going to an actual nerf gun party!
I did ask the parents in advance if they would be okay with it (it was a small party) and they sort of game me weird looks, like "duh, of course, that sounds awesome!" |
| So much fun! |
| I actually bought a kit and painted and modified a gun for each kid. We love nerf guns as did the majority of kids we know. |
| Used to do these all the time and kids love them. Only advice to add is to stow your breakables - kids took out a shelf in the foyer with two antique vases. |
