Pre-check and lace-ups. The last thing you want is to be standing on the wing of a plane “landed” in the Hudson in winter with no shoes on.

Sorry, not even on my radar of things to worry about. And if I survived a plane crash the last thing I would worry about is frost bite.

Another vote for Kiziks. Easy on, easy off and there are actually some cute styles. Skechers has a shoe with similar technology called Hands Free Slip-ins, but they are not as cute.

Pre-check! So worth it. Pro tip - Global Entry gets you free pre-check.

I always wear black yoga pants, black long sleeve T, and sneakers or Uggs. Black wool cardigan. If it’s a very cold flight, I might also have a large scarf that doubles as a blanket.

+1 only difference is I wear a zip up jacket of some sort that has zip pockets large enough for phone and passport. And almost always some kind of scarf. Airport floors are often hard, I have crappy feet, and my Fitbit tells me that there’s often a lot of walking in airports.

This makes me feel better — I recently had knee surgery and got Kizik’s because they were easy to get on and off. I thought they actually look good, but I was afraid they mark me as hopelessly geriatric. I loved the first pair so much I bought another pair in a different style, and still wear them, even though I can bend my knee now.

I usually wear clogs or slip on sneakers. Comfortable pants with stretch — especially for long flights. A hoodie or a jacket and a scarf since I’m usually cold on planes at some point. A soft, stretchy knit top.

The AllBirds slip-ons that I have are very supportive, light and comfortable.

I have some leather FitFlop clogs that also work well.

That said, if I only bring a carry-on suitcase, I’ll wear the shoes or boots that take up the most space

!! is this really what you're thinking about when you dress for a flight?

TSA-Pre is the way. $95 for 5 years.

As for shoes, I used to wear heels to look good. But now my feet hurt, and the heels often set of the metal detector and have to be taken off anyway, so I wear slip on sneakers--Sketchers makes some good options.
