Yes, and the answer is, when I'm being entertained, I like things to look aesthetically pleasing to my eye.

But you are defining "aesthetically pleasing" in a very narrow way. He is aesthetically pleasing. If you met him at work, you would likely find him to be well-above average, looks wise, especially since he's grown his hair out a bit.

Also, while some celebs (like Taylor Swift, or the Kardashians) present their relationships to the world for consumption and entertainment, most view it as maybe an element of their branding but otherwise a private aspect of their lives. Hathaway and Shulman have never offered up their relationship for your entertainment as a reality show, or in artwork based on their marriage, or as social media content (check her Instagram -- it's clearly run by her PR team and is nothing but reposts of public events and magazine photo shoots, and not a single photo of her family).

People like you are probably precisely why celebs like Hathaway are pretty private about their private lives, because once you invite people in, they think they can have an opinion. Well guess what, she doesn't care what you think of her DH (and let's get real, you'd probably fall all over yourself if you met him in person because while he's not as famous as she is, he's probably still 10x better looking and more charismatic than anyone you know IRL).

While I don’t necessarily agree with the idea of beautiful celebs being married to beautiful people (save some good looking guys for the rest of us, lol), I do agree I want to see good looking people on the screen. And the majority of us want good looks on the screen as well. As an example, Chris Hemsworth and his brother have made their careers on their looks. No one knew Chris until Thor and acting was and is not required for most of the Marvel movies.

They both look decades older in the second pic. Makes sense since they have two young children at home.

I think he's just very poorly dressed in the second pic, plus the gray is aging (though I personally don't mind that).

+1 that's what makes this thread so mean-spirited. Is she more attractive, yes. Does he look much older, yes. But who cares? Esp enough to start a thread about some ppl who've been married for awhile and have kids - it's not even like celeb gossip or a new relationship!

And agree with PP that he doesn't even have a public facing persona or as part of her PR.
