Learn to ice skate. Useful skill and can get him into hockey

Another wrestling vote, especially since he likes football. It is a great sport, and the community is incredibly supportive.

He has vetoed basketball and swim (tried them in past years and didn't love). He is a year round soccer player, and is athletic and likes to move. He enjoys baseball and football but obviously those arent offered in the winter months. We are considering volleyball, but I'm trying to think of other options. What have your kids done during these months that they've enjoyed? We are in Falls Church VA if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Learn to skate w/ an eye toward hockey.

+ 1. Once he becomes a good skater, soccer players can be quite good at hockey and the seasons mostly compliment each other. Like soccer, it's a fun, fast sport that rewards kids with quick feet and good spatial awareness who are willing to put in the work on skill development.

Hockey, St James Rec Center has learn to skate programs. Even if he doesn't end up liking hockey learning to skate is a useful skill and great exercise. And as someone learning it now I wished I learned when I was younger less afraid to fall and less likely to break a hip.
