Getting an Rx for a beta blocker was the best thing I did for my career

I can't believe everyone doesn't already know this method?? I would argue that beta-blockers are a trick as old as time. You aren't seeing confident public speakers; you are seeing speakers who are high.

Beta blockers DO NOT help me with nerves. They don’t. Not sure what kind you all are taking that they are performing this miracle.

Beta blockers do not give you a high.

Ahh yes, Facebook ads for Kick. Lol. This is 100% a low-key ad campaign post.

This thread is unbelievably inaccurate.

They made me anxious lol. I have low blood pressure though so maybe that was the problem. My doc gave them to me for headaches, didn’t help at all.

Inaccurate that "it's an ad" or inaccurate re: the "tips" and "info"?

OP -- what's the name of the drug you're using? I've seen many different ones mentioned in this thread.

Stop using drugs as a crutch and get to your underlying issues.

I am on a daily beta blocker due to a heart condition but had no idea it was supposed to be anxiety reducing. I do have less anxiety now but I also went on Zoloft around the same time so assumed the Zoloft was the cause. Quite interesting. Googling now . . .

Beta blockers do not cause a high. They are medications that are normally used for high blood pressure and heart disease. They are NOT euphorics.

To clarify: beta blockers do not treat anxiety. Their mechanism of action is to reduce the Adrenalin release that increases blood pressure and heart pumping. This same mechanism helps reduce the rapid heart rate, sweaty palms and stomach butterflies that happen when an anxious person speaks publicly. It helps keep a person calm by preventing that Adrenalin rush we get when we are nervous.

It's not a well-kept secret. People have known about this for many decades, and the issue is that you can drop dead if you take too much. Please take only the prescribed dose and consult your doctor if you feel light-headed or pass out.

Be very careful. I have low blood pressure and was prescribed a very low dose for migraines. It dropped my blood pressure so low I could barely get out of bed due to dizziness. It was awful.

I use meditation strategies to deal with any anxiety.

This is how people stay skinny, work 80 hours a week, and show up publicly. I’m not sure it’s a good idea personally. Though I’ve been offered both by my GP.

Pharma is hounding us from every direction.
