Too big of an age gap?

7 years is not the issue, the issue is that he’s a relatively recently divorced coworker. This is a bad idea all around.

Well the title is literally about the age gap, so it does appear some sort of issue for OP.

Like actually laughed AT YOU??!

That is not only very immature of him, but it is also just plain mean.

Doesn’t sound like this guy is into you if he actually laughs at you.

And trust me -> you are much better off w/out such a jerk anyway!

Maybe it wasn’t a laugh. Maybe it was a chuckle? He sends me the nicest emails saying it’s a pleasure to work with me, try at he greatly appreciates me, etc.

Hope he is not do this via work email.

He does it via work email. Is that bad? I appreciate the kind remarks.

He says that via WORK email??

OP here. But he is saying nice things. I don’t have a problem with him saying it’s a pleasure to work with me, or that he greatly enjoys working with me. Or that I’m outstanding, etc. I rather enjoy getting those emails.

Being older than, or even the same age as, your husband or boyfriend is a problem.

Do you all have children?

Don't date people at work and send romantic emails. This will not end well.

It kind of depends on the exact ages.

But the bigger problem is dating your coworkers.

You sound lonely which isn't bad but take this as a sign to put yourself out there more and date maybe have friends fix you bup. Don't date your coworkers.

Get out there and date other people

7 years age difference is not a big deal at all at those ages. I’m assuming it’s something like 44/37? The bigger deal is I’m not sure if the guy is actually into you.
