What did you do when "you saw the snake on the hallway floor"? Scream? Tell your son to put it back immediately? I mean at this point this is a nice troll fantasy you're writing, OP. |
| Who buys a snake for a 17-year old? What’s the plan when your son goes off to college? |
| Why would you let a 17 yr old get a snake? He can't take it to college so that means you become its mommy. No way! |
| Where is the snake going when he graduates? |
| We grew up with snakes. They are escape artists. You learn to live with it. It makes for great stories. Your son will remember their Mother as tolerant. It makes you more interesting. |
| Eeeeeew. This is unreal. All of it. |
| Uh..soo...OP, you realize that the expected lifespan for a pet snake in captivity is like 30 years, right? What's your plan for if/when your kid goes off to college in a year? |

If this is not a troll post, I suggest that you tell your DH that
1) the snake always looks at you 2) you can smell it in parts of the house it does not live 3) you saw the snake in the middle of the night a believe it went back to its cage on it's own so that no one knew it could escape. Ask your DH if he thinks going to a doctor to discuss these concerns would be helpful. |
Also, is the snake communicating with you? Be sure to include those details if it is. And also if you have noticed any other strange things or weird coincidences recently. |

Little Damien has been irritable lately but otherwise no. Don't see how a doctor would be relevant here - OP. |
| This is how the Everglades ended up chock full of gigantic pythons, folks. |
| OP, did you get a blood python? Those are some gorgeous snakes. |
+1 Definitely keep a snake diary. |

Can you get a wheeled cart to put its tank on so you can wheel it outside to air it out when the weather is nice? Or put a separate secure cage outside that it can hang out in for habitat enrichment and cleaning that cage out.
People are joking a lot but your brain is dealing with a multi sensory assault (maybe assault is a bit strong but still). You can start out a little wary and have that fear compounded with all the constant reminders that even end up in your own room. |
