In state or out of state - VA

No, you answer some questions on the application to show residency. There are Virginia kids who go to school out of state. They're still residents.

Absolutely not true. There are plenty of NOVA students attending private schools in MD and DC and they are not considered out of state because of it.

OP here, thank you for the helpful answers. It is potentially an option for us to return to VA, so I wanted to understand implications of in state vs out of state.
