Help - 5k for Squirrel removal and fixing where squirrel enters

Critter Gitters --if they are in your area charge $150 to set a trap and then another small fee if anything gets trapped.

I just had Summit Wildlife do this for me in Fairfax. $700.

Here's the proposed repair --
Wildlife Products: Pest Armor 173 23.00 3,979.00
Install Pest Armor (TM) Gutter Protection System per LF
General Repairs:Soffit Corners 2 125.00 250.00

They are likely upselling you on the soffit and gutters.

I can't remember exactly how much I paid for bird removal/patching up the hole (like $300 or $400?) but the guy quoted me some insane price for replacing the soffits and some other work.

I’ve always used Adcock, they are good. Removal and repair last time I used them was about $1,000.

That was a flat fee and they came out as often as needs until the traps were empty for a few trips out they removed the traps and did the repairs.

It took some observation on our part and a few days....

The danger with this is that they could have babies up there and then you’ve killed the babies and have a stinky mess in your hands.

Also the squirrel could actually be a bats or a raccoon and I’m not taking my chances with either of those critters.

I think it’s illegal to injure or kill them in FFx county, maybe if you eat them afterwards it’s okay?

Anonymous wrote:Please help. I can hear a squirrel above me in a crawlspace between ceiling and attic. It was in the same spot a few months ago, so we got an estimate from a wildlife company for $4700 to remove the squirrel by a "one-way door" and repair the area where the squirrel is getting in. The squirrel noise went away so we didn't do anything. I started hearing it again yesterday and all day today. Is this really a $4700 repair?? Any thoughts or guidance is much appreciated.

Signed - going crazy while working from home listening to the squirrel above me

Call me, I'll do it for half that.

What's the penalty - I need to make an informed decision.

Don't trust DCUM legal advice!

Well we thought we had this. Now a year later, I think they were only on our roof.

We got a huge quote and couldn’t do it.

We left it alone, and I don’t hear it anymore. Questionable if they were in our attic anyway. The guy said maybe, and said if I was worried we could do the huge repair. But he never found real evidence. (Feces, fur, or torn up insulation)

Gutters aren’t quoted and soffit is $250. That’s what I paid a handyman. My handyman would also do the pest removal and repair but not sure the cost.

Getting our trees trimmed back away from the house really reduced the squirrel traffic on our roof.
