A man can't compare to my dog

Dogs are more loyal and never hurt your feelings.

Iโ€™m a single heterosexual woman whose female dog is her soul mate.

Fight me. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

I met this guy on online dating who said not to be surprised if my dog doesn't like him, because when he meets people's dogs, most dogs don't like him. Point for dogs.

I like my dog too but he likes men more. Like if we go somewhere and there's a man, he'll go sit between the man's feet, or like this one time in the pet store three men came in together and my dog tried to leave with them, falling in line as if he was one of the group, tail wagging like crazy.

My 7lb people loving chihuahua is trying to bring some male into our life and I'm resistant.

"Right man?" There are no right men out there anymore.

I'd pick the dog.

I got a dog specifically because my Dh is away a lot and pays no attention to me when he is not away, and isn't physically affectionate.

Best decision ever.

When he looks at me with those huge beautiful eyes, he melts my heart.

I realize that no man has been able to compare to the time I spend with my dog.

Donโ€™t married.

The love your dog gives you is not unconditional. Stop feeding it and it will no longer love you. You're confusing unconditional love with compelled love.

Exactly. Unconditional love probably does not exist at all. The closest is perhaps we have for our kids, but if you have a severely disturbed kiddo who tries to murder you, well, that goes out of the window too!

My dear dog-lovers, please remind yourself that if you drop dead, your hungry dog will end up eating you. They stay with you due to their limited options and have been bred for millenia to express loyalty and affection.

Your human lovers and/or friends won't eat you but may hurt you in other ways. It's all pros and cons. So you need ALL these relationships for a happy life.

My dog is welcome to my flesh if I'm dead. Unlike my ex DH who metaphorically tried to consume me while I was still alive.

Seriously. Why would I care? Iโ€™d be dead. Iโ€™m happy for my body to go to my dogs. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

I prefer dogs to men myself, but itโ€™s not true that dogs never hurt your feelings. There is that one time that they hurt you, when they die far too soon.

Exactly. As I said. That's why you can't rely on just one emotional outlet.
