I would buy 3 less expensive, more unique brands—see linked list and scroll down past the luxury brands. Fleuron looks cool. Buy a summer tote, a day to day work horse, and a fun/bold bag. That is what I would do. |
Honestly $1200 won’t get you much.
I’d do something like the Polene numero neuf mini in camel or black and just use a basic tote (larger) for daily use at home. |
I would get a Louis or Chanel. You can find something small in that price range. |
Agree with PP, I would look at a smaller one of those too. Look at something in the 2k range in US so you have a good idea what you can get for 1200. That noted, it’s been several years since I was in Paris, but that was roughly the savings. Not sure what it is today. |
There are a couple of great handbag stores in the Marais: leather, unique,...
not cheap but not crazy either, and more importantly innovative |
Chloe bag |
Delage
Delveux Moynat Moreau Joseph Duclos Duret Celine Don’t bother with Goyard, Christian Dior, Chanel, LV, and Saint Laurent. All of these are machine made but are over priced |
A fun jerome dreyfus bag |
No, it’s fugly! |
Hermes |
I'd buy a plastic bag and spend the money on seeing France. |
I'm n ot a fan of the flashy, logo-heavy designer bags. I love Olivia Clergue bags- a true "atelier." She had a shop in Le Marais, but have closed. Not sure if other independent stores in France carry her bags. |
