How many invites do you make before you stop?

I take a hint with friends and back off. I’m having a hard time with this lately. So many flakey people end up canceling on me—and often they’re the ones who initiate. I’m just over it. But it’s left me feeling virtually friendless.

Suggesting another time is always a good idea. And not, "call me another time." That's the worst. An actual invitation. "I can't Tuesday but how about Wednesday or Friday. Would that work for you?"

Put the ball in their court. That’s what I do after 1 tries.
