The house is a tear down. You are buying the land.

Actually has two houses. I think with almost 8 acres you can find space to build a new home without tearing down old ones

Except utilities don’t move themselves to the perfect spot 3 acres away.

NO ONE wants that much forest. That's all. All the people who would want that much land (such as my husband) want a vista, to see their property, and they want to have amenities (pool, tennis, gardens), and they do not want to have to maintain woods. Trees need maintenance otherwise they grow every which way and fall on each other and surrounding buildings. They harbor too many deer and then you go into your garden and catch Lyme disease or other tick-borne diseases. My uncle is a forest manager and deal with these things.

And since it would be VERY expensive to uproot half the trees... this is going to be a hard sell.

I guess I'm no one!

I'd love the privacy while still being close to everything.

I'm curious what the PP thinks "maintaining woods" actually entails...

I heard somewhere that you have to rake forests like they do in Finland.

This house is back on the market for a cool $470,000 more than it sold for in September 2023.

7.5 acres is just a big yard, it’s hardly hermit status.

I grew up on 15 acres of woods. We got chased by a raccoon, a pig, a million numbered beagles and a loose horse. Rumor has it there’s a zebra running around my old neighborhood. Good times. Seriously.
