Unannounced testing?

Would be nice to know just to make sure kid is well rested and ready.

Your job is to send your kid to school rested and ready every day. Rewarding parents who think they can pick and choose when to parent isn't a reason for a school to notify you.

Stop being a tool.

The testing windows are available online.

We received notice last week that our 5th grader would have MAP testing this week. Reading was today and Math is on Thursday. I appreciate the notice as my kid needs a lot of sleep and I make sure he eats breakfast that day. He doesn’t always like to eat in the morning but even he recognizes he does better with testing when he has food.

+1 to this.

Also, PP -- where do they post this online?

For 5th graders who are interested, the county uses the fall MAP for the magnet middle schools, so it does matter.

Who cares? None of it matters for your kid. It’s to judge the school.

That is a month-long window.

Incorrect, as already explained.

Not true. They use the scores for class and magnet placement. I like to know in advance for the reasons someone mentioned previously. Plus I like to know to not schedule ortho or dentist appointments or whatever then.
