It's not just the source, but the quality of the reporting. The blog post doesn't explain where they got the idea that a fall "will cause death" or under what circumstances that's the case. Would a random fall cause death? Or just a bone cracking tackle? If the latter, how much would a grass field have mitigated that risk, or is it just the tackle that is the problem?

There's no nearly enough information here amidst the snark to understand whether this is a real issue or not.

Completely agree. We don't have any indoor track facilities or swimming pools. When insee videos of schools in Texas, etc, I'm blown away by the condition and spaciousness of the schools. Not just the athletic facilities but the libraries, labs, classrooms, lunch halls. Our schools lunch room wouldn't fit a group of preschoolers sitting down in the space.
The new development on Texas funds amazing schools for the communities that will live there. They rival the best private schools. Our schools are an embarrassment. Somethings very wrong with our local planning boards.

Bocce uniforms: $100 per player
Football uniforms/helmets/pads: $800-$2000 per player

Just one piece: MCPS bought 625 helmets in 2019, at $170-400 each (so let's say $250 each). $165,000 on helmets that bid. Or at about 70 players per team, $18,750 per school every 10 years (a helmet's lifespan).

Practice equipment (such as blocking dummies) don't exist in bocce.

Then there are the game referees - five for football and one for bocce. And travel costs.
