How do I learn to enjoy driving?

That is incredibly dangerous and irresponsible of you. Whatever you do, don't drive like this, because you are a danger to yourself and others. Driving when you're that sleepy is no different than driving drunk.

Not everyone has a choice.

Of course you have a choice. That's like say you don't have a choice to drive drunk. Tell us exactly why you have no alternatives - moving closer to your job, hiring a driving service, other forms of public transportation, getting more sleep, etc.

I grew up in a small town with no real if cities nearby and loved to drive. We would drive around just for fun all the time. I still love hitting the open road as for a long trip but the truth is there are no open roads. Unless I’m driving at 4 am there are too many cars on the road.

There are too many of us now to enjoy driving pretty much anywhere in the country. Also with the increased number of drivers there are more aggressive drivers and more accidents. I don’t know how anyone is brave enough to get on a motorcycle now.

Good music or podcast. Keep searching for the right one. I hated driving (grew up in NYC and didn't really need to drive until having kids, and even then, very minimally). And now I've learned to enjoy the solitude of the car when I have the right thing to listen to, and maybe a good snack.

DP. There's always a choice. People like the OP just default to the path of least resistance to them, and don't take into account the effect it might have on other people.

Yeah, if she's that far from an airport, there's no Uber or colleagues. Idiots.

Get a better and more comfortable car that is fun to drive.
Driving a Toyota is like flying economy class.
Driving a BMW or Benz would be like flying business class.

I enjoy making phone calls to friends I don't talk to enough and listening to music, my DH likes podcasts - find something you will look forward to doing in the car as well.

Bring snacks and drinks you enjoy.

This is actually the only thing I've found that helps, so maybe I need to lean into it. Wish more people liked talking on the phone!

In the car? I don't think that is very safe!

No one cares what you think.

I don't mind driving (2 hr commute roundtrip everyday via car) but I HATE road trips (driving and being the passenger.)
