Alexandria travel soccer

I assume you live in Alexandria if you are choosing between these clubs? I would consider SYC too. The girls side has added some good coaches in the last year and I would say they are more skilled than ASA. Arlington would be a good option too.

For anyone living in Alexandria, going with ASA is a no-brainer in my opinion. They have a wide range of levels in their travel program so there is a team for everyone; their top teams compete in MLS Next, the top boys league.

Maybe she is the next Alyssa Thompson--didn't she play MLSNext?

Gunston was strong in that age group, but they merged two teams into one. The top team was very good, the second team was very bad

Still strong at 2010G... the second travel team was replaced by an SFL team that was winning all their games while playing up. That team jumped over to NCSL and will play Div 2 for the Fall.

That team is a closed team without tryouts. The former team that was in EDP absorbed the former second team players

are you looking to join a team for this fall season? your options might be slim.

Yes- looking to join a team this fall. That is the issue- recognize that it will be slim and we may have no options.
Dad has played Rec for many years and one of the better players. She is a multi-sport athlete (travel basketball and Rec volleyball), but really focused on soccer this summer with clinics and some 1:1 training.
Goal would be to play in HS. We are looking at the Catholic HS teams.

If you end up going to public, the head coach at west potomac is the former president of lmvsc and the head coach at hayfield runs Gunston rec

U13 Girls coach at LMVSC is very good. It’s a program that your DD can definitely develop in.

I’m assuming your DD is a 2010?

I don’t know the ASA or gunston coaches, but I’m definitely a fan of Luis bravo, the 2010 white (second team) at LMVSC. My kids think he’s a great coach and lots of fun.

The 2011 coach at Alexandria for the top team is not good but I think the roster might have open spots (probably because of the coaching). But I think I would reach out to LMV.

Anyone have thoughts on 2008 teams for next year? We are looking for a new opportunity.

ASA coaches and program are horrible. We left. U13 girls only have 2 teams they didn't have enough players. They had mass exodus after the GA fiasco for top team so the ones who stayed the combined with best of the second team to now play in that new league. If you aren't going club to HS it may be fine. They are always looking for talent so you may get a break and still get in Fall lineup if you try. Club wise they are not strong v SYC or Arl. It's true that v the other 2 teams you mention they were maybe better quality being larger at lower ages.

Have her each out to the Arlington coaches. If she is 13 then she is a U14 or U15....they have 4 teams for each age group. Top teams play ECNL.
