If you decide to do books you could do joke books or riddle books. I feel like five below sells those. Good for varying age/reading level.
Candy from five below would be a hit with my kid too, and wouldn’t get thrown away. |
joke book, mad libs, compass/whistle, candy bar, pez, deck of cards |
Nothing.the party is for the birthday child and all children need to learn this. Goody Bags are cheap dollar store crap. Stop wasting your money as well as sending kids home with this trash. |
Lollipops at a trampoline park is asking for a mouth injury. Just give them frilly socks for the trampoline place. That’s it. |
Most people don’t want books. It’s more clutter that won’t be used and they are tossed or donated. We never received a book for a party favor that was kept and read. The interest wasn’t there, it was a duplicate or the reading level was wrong.
Stick to simple, disposable things that can be eaten in the car, saved for later or thrown out of the parents insist. A cookie, big candy bar, bag of candy, big lollipop, bottle of Gatorade… one of these is plenty. |
*consumable, not disposable |
Goody bags (or in your case, lollipops) are given out at the end of the party as kids are leaving. There's no danger of a kid taking one onto the trampolines. |
Agree! We never do them and have never had kids comment- at least not at the party or within ear shot of me. No one wants more junk at home or in the car and kids just ate cake, ice cream, cupcakes or whatever birthday treat you did- sending them home with more candy or cookies is a no too |
At my 7 yo’s party this year, which had an outdoor/adventure theme, we gave out small compasses. |
Give them an arcade pass with $5 pre-loaded. |
I did fake bricks once - like movie props. They were foam, but looked really realistic. The kids loved them. |
I always wonder when people say XXX was a bit hit or the kids loved YYY. Did they really or just for the first 2 minutes? |
I feel like you live on a different planet than I do when you say most people don’t want books. That’s like saying most people don’t like ice cream. It is a collection of words that do not seem to go together. How hard is it to drop it in a little free library or save for Christmas and put in the toys for tots bin or send it to school with a note for the class library? They are literally the easiest thing to find a new home for. |
I like those Popcornopolis cones. Festive looking and kids love them! |
For me, I love getting my inner pinterest on and I don't care what the kids think. I did a candy tackle box for the last party and I had a ball making them. It's the only time of the year I get crafty. Didn't hear any complaints from the kids within earshot and the parents told me how cute the boxes were. |
