House with strong pet smell

Anonymous
We bought a house where the previous owners had 2 dogs and 3 cars. We hired a cleaning service for a move in cleaning before we moved in.

We pulled the washer/dryer, fridge and oven away from the walls to vacuum behind them.

And most importantly, we cleaned all the walls with sponges and soap and then repainted. Cleaning the walls sounded ridiculous, but the amount of hair that came up was crazy.

Thankfully, we didn't have carpets, but I imagine we would have had to pull them up.

We didn't end up doing a vent cleaning, because we'd read that they're sort of a scam.

The pet odor might be masking a mold problem too. Get an indoor air test; any outfit like Nova Environmental or really anyone licensed.

Never, ever keep the carpet from a previous owner. Pet or no pet. But most especially, if there were pets, even more so, even if you have one.

These are THE best products you're ever going to find.

They don't leave any chemical residual odors they're completely safe for pets and humans (the guy in the demonstration of the pooph sprays it in his mouth to show how safe it is!) and they don't just mask the odors, the enzymes in both KILL the odors.

Both are fantastic, but I love the Pooph.

Like some other PPs, we removed flooring and had to remove large areas of sub flooring. This was from cats. I don’t think dogs are as bad/insidious.
