Hahahaha |
| For years DPW has said that the main reason they don’t tow all the tow-eligible cars is because they don’t have space at Blue Plains. This is a big reason why it is tough to get an abandoned vehicle removed in one’s neighborhood. Why the geniuses at DPW, the Mayor’s office, or Council can’t figure out how to buy, lease, or use existing space (hello RFK lots) indicates either idiocy or complacency. |
After 6 months they should bring any cars that haven't been claimed to the auction. Problem solved. |

Someone needs a life. |
Wow. You’re pathetic. Get a life. And no, before you bother with your predictable adolescent clapback, I have zero tickets. |
Just a scumbag ally? |
Yes, because if one is sick and tired of “lawlessness,” couch surfing for unpaid parking tickets is clearly the top priority for taking action…
|
Actually, the moving violations are the fault of Maryland and Virginia, who refuse to offer reciprocity to DC, so MD and VA drivers can just do whatever the hell they want on our roads. |
Explain? Even if outsiders can dodge paying tickets, how can they dodge arrest and impoundment? |
Among ALL the crimes, parking tickets are your number on priority? |
Our roads? You don't drive on theirs when you go there? |
No, but people who have so little regard for traffic laws aren't model citizens when it comes to bigger crimes either. |
The can easily dodge it because DPW (which writes parking tickets and handles booting/towing) and MPD (which handles arrests) are both critically understaffed. Your chance of getting booted/towed for owing thousands in tickets -- or getting pulled over by police -- is laughably small in DC. |
NP.. How about we enforce all the laws? Someone who is a habitual speeder and red-light-runner should just get their car impounded. No complicated and prolonged investigation, prosecution, trial, et cetera. Far less resources needed. If they want their car back, they need to pay up. Simple as that. It's low hanging fruit. And meanwhile it brings in revenue, some of which could be put toward all of the other crime problems. |
