You were angry at a second grader for not remembering summer homework? Poor thing. Please get that hyper-anxiety under control otherwise you're going to raise a hyper-anxious child.

And next time, YOU remember the summer homework. I have an 8th grader who wouldn't remember summer homework if it hit her in the face every day. I remind her, she does it, it's fine. Most kids are like this.

Summer homework is optional. It I s pretty short so I have my kid do it. Why not? But I have them do it…. I don’t expect them to volunteer to do it. My kids are MS and HS.

It's public school. Nothing over the summer is required (or even during the school year). Your kid can do almost nothing and still pass. Relax.
