I want to be less squishy. |
I don't really have any short term goals right now. In the past, it's been to train for various races, but my goals are all long term now. They are:
- maintain my weight (loss) - emotional/mental release/therapy - maintain my strength and fit musculature (I do a mix of things: running, dance class, HIIT, strength training, walking, hiking when the weather cools down considerably) |
I want to do pull ups. And I want my abs to be firmer. I am at 17% body fat but after three kids, my stomach is still not firm. |
I'm not going to lie and say losing weight and looking better isn't one of my goals, but the main thing is to lower my cholesterol, which has suddenly gone sky high in the last year. |
Continue lifting heavy and building my aesthetics. I look great but want to keep looking better. |
Great thread…..
I wake up with the same goal — regain strength, mobility and flexibility to stay for as I age (former athlete with minor injuries that I allowed to sideline me) This is making me state that I am not doing a damn thing about it! Argh. |
Finding time for both cardio and strength/stretching. If I can do both consistently, I’m happy with the results. |
It used to be to have the stamina to keep up with my kids. Now, its stay in shape to live healthier for longer, and to keep up with the eventual grandkids! |
Exercise every day. |
Upgrade to 25lb dumbbells for strict shoulder presses. 30s for chest presses, rows and snatches. 40s for deadlifts and squats.
Longer term: flat stomach ![]() |
Muscle. Muscle. And more muscle. |
As I get older, my goal is less and less "look good" and more and more "exercise enough to not hurt." |
