Not very practical in some areas. |
Generally you volunteer at the meets. So, if you plan to come watch your kids swim there isn’t an additional time commitment. If you weren’t planning to go watch then yes, it’s an issue. |

We’ve done a variety of things.
The first couple years I was a SAHM with younger siblings so Kid 1 just came home. This would be the same if I had a nanny for younger siblings. DH is a first responder, and our neighbor works in an ER, so we often had one of them pick up both sets of kids after an overnight. Hired a teenager at the pool to watch them after. Morning swim and arrive late to camp Camp and afternoon swim |
True, but our team also does Friday breakfasts and other in week volunteer activities. If the weekend and meet volunteering slots get full then you have to make the weekday hours work. I honestly don’t know how dual working parents do it. |
| Our swim team has a ton of working parents, but we live in a big WFH area. |
This or someone steps back from their career to help with kids activities. I know 2-income full-time parents don’t like to hear this, but you can’t have it all. We make less money with my DH working part-time, but my kids are able to do summer swim and a few other activities that otherwise would not be possible. No one gets everything. Except really rich people with full-time, driving nannies. |
Gross. Pool water is not clean. Everyone should shower with soap after swimming. |
Eh, but if it saves time and the kid will get hot and sweaty at camp you might as well shower in the evening after camp. |
| Our pool has afternoon swim team practices. |
PM practices suck for the rest of the members of the pool. That’s when everyone else wants to use the pool. |
This! And the chlorine in their hair and skin. Geez, some people really do not care about their kids. Just about shuttling them from one container to another |
