The question was for the forum moderator. |
I get that. I was just offering you an idea that you can try to control yourself. Sorry I tried to help. |
But then PP wouldn’t get to be a victim. Or have something to complain about. |
NP and it sounds like you aren't one of the trolls. I can usually tell from an OP's post if they're looking for a debate with people of differing views or if they're looking for a discussion and/or advice from people coming from a shared perspective be it religious or atheist or whatever. From there it's simple to stay out of it. |
I think many religious folks view "Religious Forum" as a forum for religious people to discuss religion themselves (ONLY). From atheists standpoint, "Religious Forum" simply means a forum to discuss anything religion related including existence or non-existence of God. They are two different interpretations. Neither is right, neither is wrong. But if you put it in your thread that OP is solicitating opinions from religion people only, I think many atheists (like myself) would respect that. And, for those who do not, you have a basis for reporting. After a few deleted posts, I doubt people would keep posting. What you lose, IMHO, is an opportunity to hear different perspectives which is what makes DCUM so great. But, obviously, OP made it clear she wasn't asking for my opinion. |
I'm the PP you're responding to. FWIW I don't think registration should be required. Here's the difference between different perspectives as you mentioned and the people who are trolling. If post that I'm church-shopping, maybe I was raised Catholic but I'm exploring moving to a Protestant church what I don't need is people saying "all Catholics are evil if you stay" or "g*d doesn't exist anyway so you're all telling fairytales regardless of what church you choose". That language is a bit hyperbole, but hopefully you see my point. I shouldn't have to specifically say that I only want the perspectives of other people of faith since I'm clearly asking about churches. |
Right, that will take you back to where we are. There's no perfect solution, only the best solution. Anyway, enough of this for one day. Good day. |
DP and I too think you’re trying to be helpful. I do think this would work for the majority of forum denizens of any belief or none. And people of faith are generally (with a few exceptions) good at staying out of atheist threads. But, they’re two or more atheists who aren’t good at all and are in fact quite abusive and have no self control, and this would be directed at them. |
