Lazy river

You could also do Soak City/ King's Dominion for a day trip. They have a lazy river.

We're doing a staycation next week and that's one of my kids number one wish after hearing a cousin rave about a lazy river experience at a resort. No resort for us, but hoping to find a lazy river. Also open to trying tubing if there's anywhere fairly safe and not too far from DC.

I
Went tubing at Harper’s ferry last weekend. It was great.

Yes! So much fun too!

Which company/trip did you do?

River and Trail Outfitters

Old Mill Park definitely does not have a lazy river, although there is access to the Rappahannock. They charge for parking on the weekend. Kings Dominion has a lazy river, but the lineup for tubes can be chaotic when it is crowded.

AV Symington Center in Leesburg is a smaller water park— it has a lazy river, a few slides, lily pads.

AV Symington gets insanely busy.

+1 - we go to lots of water parks and this was one of the best we’ve been to. They have a normal lazy river and also have one that has a faster current and you just wear a life vest instead of floating in a tube. So fun!

When we did a float in Harper's Ferry it was basically a frat party on the water. I'm all for bringing a few beers or whatever, but this was completely over the top. The guy next to us was drinking a fifth of vodka straight out of the bottle.

We also are fans of Water Country in Williamsburg. We do it as a day trip but it's a long day. But tons of fun.

The water park at Six Flags has one.
