She has tasted it before (plus at church). Not her thing (yet). |
| My grandfather and uncles used to make wine every summer and neither my mom nor any of us grandchildren/cousins are alcoholics. It's not unusual for people who are decsended from Europeans to do that. |

I was a little bit older at the time, but in high school biology class we made “wine” as an experiment. Basically grape juice and yeast was allowed to sit in a thermos for a few days. And we were allowed to drink it! (It was awful.)
This really is no big deal, and if anything would make a nice family memory (likely better than the memory from my class). |
Not very smart. |
| The family that ferments together stays together. |
She didn't know how they'd react. |
Love it. |
That's why it wasn't smart. |
| I come from a long line of substance abusers/addicts. We've never allowed our kids to drink at home and, from an early age, have discussed with them the family history and the 'addict' gene we all have. Yet, even I would have allowed my kids to learn to make wine. It's fermentation which is a fascinating 'science' topic and applicable to so many things other than wine making. I also suspect my kids, and your DD, will find the end result disgusting but it's the journey, not the destination. |
| You aren't making amateur pornography, of course it's fine. |
