| There are already meters by the library and St. Arnold's. And there are car share spaces by Medium Rare on Ordway. They must be contemplating more than that. |
Who dragged Mark out of the CP listserv? |
| I'm so glad i moved out of dc and don't have to deal with this bullshit anymore. |
| ugh |
yeah. on the one hand living in moco is kind of boring but on the other there is so much annoying stuff like this that you have to deal with in dc |
|
If you are venturing into Cleveland Park for a night out and you are afraid of the lack of parking, may I recommend the tons of spaces open on Connecticut, the many on Porter if you are willing to walk two blocks, and, if you in incredible shape, there are plenty of spots at grade on Quebec Street by Adas Israel.
If blocks are too much, please consider Metro. |
It was posted on ONE of your neighborhood listservs by a known crank with no supporting evidence. |
| DC is just becoming incredibly unwelcoming to law abiding citizens who just want to be left alone. As the council chair said recently, you can literally get away with murder in this city. But, now the city is going to make regular folks like me pay to park in front of my own house? |
| This is a great idea. Metered parking for EVERYONE would be the most equitable. No more free lunch for rich folks in million dollar mansions when there is so much need across the city. |
But you can park there all day for free currently, so nothing really changes other than unzoned people and people from out of state would feed the meter. |
There is no "right" to a free parking space in front of your home. It is public space and there should be a public benefit for ALL residents for those who use it. |
If one is going for a night out, that usually implies drinking, which means they should be taking a cab or uber anyhow. That said, in the 30 years I have lived in DC, I have never had an issue parking close to the commercial area in Cleveland Park when I have driven there. The idea that there is a lack of parking there is simply a fallacy. |
Under what part of the US Constitution is it mandated that you get free parking in front of your house? |
I'm guessing the PP is talking about two things: 1. driving a car 2. parking a car |
| It's going to be hilarious to watch Frumin run screaming from this issue. There's no way he has the backbone to support what's being proposed in this thread. |
