I recommend lifting weights 2-4 x per week. If you can’t afford a personal trainer there are so good folks online you can follow. I’m a huge fan of Caroline Girvan. She recently launched an app with a beginner program you may want to try. App is $15 per month. Start with a pair of 5 & 10 lb free weights. |
At 50, you’re more prone to injury. Work with a good, mature, professional trainer who will responsibly increase the difficulty of your workouts and teach you proper form. Ask to see bios/resumes. |
They can customize your workout around an injury or suggest stretches, etc. Also, I am an extrovert so I enjoy talking to someone to help the time go by |
Try Pilates! it’s a great way to start building strength. Downsides are cost and potentially schedule. |
