I danced alone today

LOVE this thread! OP, please share what you were listening to!

OP here-we put together quite the eclectic mix because it was three women with very diverse tastes. The only criteria was that the songs had to make you feel like grooving in the car with the windows down! Some of the songs:

Tom Petty: Mary Jane's Last Dance; Temptations: Ball of Confusion; Dixie Chicks: Wide Open Spaces; Bobby Darin: Mack the Knife; Ramones: I Wanna be Sedated; Jesus and Mary Chain: Head On; Janis Joplin: Me and Bobby McGee; Doors: Roadhouse Blues; Grateful Dead: Shakedown Street; Grateful Dead: Not Fade Away; Molly Hatchet: Flirting with Disaster; AC/DC: Shook Me All Night Long; Prince: Let's Go Crazy; The Jam: Town Called Malice and Beat Surrender; Billy Bragg/Wilco: Hoodoo Voodoo; Bob Marley: Could you be loved; B-52's: Strobe Light; U2-I Will Follow; Janis Joplin: Summertime (technically not a groove song, but we all agreed that one of the sexiest songs EVER); Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers: Islands in the Stream (don't ask!!); there were more songs but that's what I can remember from yesterdays dance session!

I was just reminiscing last night about a week long girls' road trip I took 4 years ago (pre-kids, pre-mortgage and pre-husband). What a good time that was! Those fun people we used to be are still in us somewhere, we just have to remind them to surface every now and then!

Great post. So glad it's a positive one! Us mom's need to de-stress sometimes - be it dancing to music by yourself, getting a massage, manicure, shopping alone (no whining kids), or just reading a book or magazine in peace in quiet. Good for you.

Great playlist OP. And by the way, "Dancing with myself" is in fact an awesome song to dance to.

Living room dancing is the best. i do this almost every evening around 5 when I am facing that last hour with my 1 year old son before dinner and i am absolutely out of ideas. he loves it and i do too. we're currently dancing exclusively to the broken bells album. SO GOOD!

OP, you need some MJ on that list. That's what I dance alone to - I call it my exercise!

Awesome post, BTW!
