Adaptive swim lessons in MoCo

The lessons we did through Moco Therapeutic Recreation were excellent.

My daughter (16 years old) helped with lessons via Sports Plus Group at the JCC in Rockville. The program is designed for children, teens and young adults with mild to moderate autistic spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. They keep the ratios small. My daughter had a wonderful experience!

OP here. Thanks. I will look into it. Was this a group lesson?

I checked WeAquatics and I don't see any adaptive programs, at least at the Bethesda location. In any case, the location does not work for us. I also checked with SwimLabs and they told me that Deanna is only teaching on a very limited basis at their location, and she has no availability. They have no availability for other group lessons.

Still trying to search for Wendy.

This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Thanks again, everyone!

I'm the PP who mentioned Wendy above - unfortunately I don't know her last name.

But, if you go to KSAC they have a binder of swim instructors who are authorized to give private lessons there at the front desk - ask to see it. There's maybe a dozen, at most a dozen and a half in the binder and I'm pretty sure she's the only Wendy. If the person working the font desk doesn't know or hasn't heard of her, ask to talk to the manager, they will know who she is and if she currently available/giving lessons.
