Why do they make footie zipped PJs up to 4t?

People are right, the only other choice is letting her wear a night pull-up, and you’ve said you’re not willing to do that. So just explain to her “you’re not getting the sleep you need because of the footie pajamas, so it’s time to get rid of them”. She’ll be pissed for a couple nights and this will be done.

Yep. I would also just tell grandparents when DD isn’t around that the footie PJs aren’t working for you anymore, and to just ignore that specific request from DD.

+1 I have 2T two-piece pjs and I stopped buying footie ones around 1.5-2, when they start being able to keep blankets on.

My twins were potty trained at 2.5 and they both (boy and girl) figured out how to pee with their footie jams on bc they are cozy and they loved them. Why don’t you just practice with her so she is better at stripping them and putting them back on?

Yes, practice with her. My dc enjoyed footie pjs on cold winter nights in New England, and at 4 they got them off just fine, never an issue.

Or, just get rid of them! Tell her they are 'put away for the summer' and never get them back out.

It’s really hard to say no but as a toddler mom I’m learning that’s 90% of parenting. OP, you DO have the power to just take them away. It’s nuts that you’re not even considering that. I would just be honest with her and say it’s way too hard to get them on and off quickly so it’s time to move on to two piece pajamas until she’s much older and can hold it better.

Omg just cut a hole in the crotch and butt area.

Maybe she isn't really potty/ night trained if she can't get her PJs off without having an accident. Try pull-ups at night for a while

+1 why does it matter if they are still made by the companies? This is a 4yo and you choose what to buy her and dress her in.

They were manageable when she was a baby and toddler but post-potty training they are awful.

Yet she’s obsessed and refuses to wear anything other than her footie zip up pajamas to bed.

She asks for more for birthdays and holidays and grandparent oblige.

I’ve tried hiding them. I’ve tried turning up the temp at night in hopes she gets too hot and sleeps in the cute short & t-shirt sets I’ve gotten her.

Nope. Footies every night. Constant potty issues. Either she can’t get out of them on her own, can’t get out of them fast enough, or half ass gets the bottom off and pees all over the legs (or they fall into the toilet). It’s like 2-3 nights a week.

I wish they stopped making them at 2T, because they are such a pain.

And no, we aren’t going to do pull-ups or restrict water before bed. She has no issues getting up to use the restroom and often needs water by her bedside for dry throat.

I just wish she’d wear normal pajamas.

So…just throw them away and get her normal pajamas? I’m failing to understand how this is the fault of Big Pajama when you control the pajamas in your house.

Omg laughing so hard at Big Pajama.

It's all a conspiracy against OP!

This is the wildest parenting complaint. Pajamas!! Imagine your life being so easy that pajamas are annoying.

I agree. Sounds like she's not potty trained at night and you are placing blame on her outfit.

The thought of Big Pajama Cartel controlling the means of production made me lol.

I switched to two piece PJs after my kids turned 3. Much easier to deal with.

I don’t know anyone who still uses footie pajamas after their kids can walk bc even the ones with the grippy soles are slippery. This whole thread is eye opening.

OP, they make footie pajamas for adults.

Are you stupid? Get rid of them. Like throw them away, get them out of the house, do not give her a choice. You are going to be a terrible parent if you haven't been able to figure this out.

Sweetheart my 10 year old and I have matching footie pajamas. You are in for a world of hurt, LOL
