what brand of sneakers for 9th grade girl? (DC private school)

My rising 11th grader at an independent school typically wears converse high tops or Adidas sambas, all seasons. She specifically requested both, FWIW.

You might try posting on the private school forum and list the specific school. Most privates have a photo gallery or pictures on their website. Look there for clues about what types of things kids wear.

np. I personally think the Birks with Nike socks are cute. At our public HS, it's a popular look now for both boys and girls. To each their own.

Uggs aren’t popular at DD’s private at all. I do see crocs sometimes though.

Crocs are popular, but my DD's private banned them as they can be a hazard. Most of her friends wore Nikes of some sort(Dunks, Jordans, AirMax)

Honestly I would try to get the scoop on what the girls are wearing at the school she will be going to. Otherwise she will likely start school with whatever you get her and then ask for whatever everyone else is wearing.

At our school it’s all Nikes and crocs at the moment. But before it it was definitely adidas and Uggs.

The trends do change from year to year and grade to grade.
