Obvious that was the point the poster was trying to make. More than qualified applicant was waitlisted when kid chose not to take AP english. |
Most parents have kids in public school and aren't paying guidance counselors anything. Maybe the lack of a salesman to make a class sound like more than it is explains why top public school students take so many AP classes |
This is great news. Was this recently? What was the most common highest AP Math? |
At least UVA makes this clear. Many schools don’t. |
My kids took both and said lit is way easier than language. |
| My kids took both, if you can't... not sure you're qualified for a top school. Neither was particularly hard. |
Yes. She will be a “First Year” this fall. Highest math was Calc BC. At least one AP class in each subject area, including World Language. |
| Yes, you need to take both. |
If you are coming out of NOVA you need a double digit AP count to be truly competitive. Sure some will get in with less but double digit AP count is the new norm. |
Okay, an anomaly of your school. That's not the reputation, or evident in the score distribution. |
Do you mean every subject except English? |
She took AP Lang, but not AP Lit. Took DE English instead. Kids that got into UVA a year ahead of her, did the same thing. |
What is DE English?? Our private does Lang in 11th and Lit in 12th. |
Disregard. Just saw someone answered on previous page |
I am this poster. Extra info: she attended a high “FARMS” FCPS school. |
