Aussies are usually very social, if they do nip it’s at the heel area. Something sounds off with that one. |
| It’s just plain stupid to be petting animals you don’t know. |
+1 OP is an arse. |
I made the post to which you replied. Okay, go ahead and report. The dog owners can & should report you. That is how our legal system works. In the future, be careful about letting your child engage in potentially dangerous situations. |
|
OP: You are rude & obnoxious. You willingly let a child engage in a potentially dangerous activity and now you want to report the dog owners of a properly restrained animal ????
Tip: Google "assumption of risk". |
No. I don’t want to report. That’s the gist of the original message everyone else understood. I’m asking what my civic duty is here. Y’all are just classic DCUM toxic responders, making people out to be malicious, rude, and obnoxious when trying to ask honest questions. It’s amazing. |
| Don’t report and don’t pet dogs who you don’t know! |
| This is not child abuse. And, no, and stop walking up to strangers and asking to pet the dog. |
| Sounds like the dog became overly excited and mouthed your child which turned into a bite. I wouldn’t report but the dog owner should definitely work on the issue. |
Not op. You are a nutcase. Please tell us more about yourself. The dog owners should be aware of their dog’s tendencies. They could have said no. I’d sue anyone who reported me to cps in this case. |
. Op I assume there is one nutty poster who won’t let this go. I would probably report the bite and it is not true that dogs are put down for one bite like this. The owners seemed responsible and nice but the action should be documented. We don’t know if this is a one off for this dog. |
Honestly OP the pet forum is where you get the highest number of crazy posters. |

Google: Assumption of risk.
If you report the dog bite, the dog's owners will report what happened regarding parental consent and assumption of risk. |
What if the dog bite your child in the face ? |
Ok, if you say so. But insurance company would sure want dog owners to pay if medical bills warranted. |
