I think it’s selfish and messed up whether a man or woman does this.

Fifty is the new 30!

I can’t believe all the people thinking 50 is a reasonable age to have a child. It’s selfish and terrible and the only reason she can even do it is because she’s rich. Which is also the reason her child will hopefully not have a terrible time possibly managing their mothers elder care while barely 20.
My mom because my responsibility when she was 67 due to health/ aging issues. It is more common than you think despite no one ever thinking it will happen to them.

I love Naomi. I am so happy for her.

My cat looks like her. She is gorgeous.

Good for her! I disagree. I think it is great when rich people use kids. I think it is selfish when people have kids and cannot afford to pay to send them to college.

This was posted in the other thread (now locked since this one was here first) in response to that PP saying that Naomi was "breaking the glass ceiling" by having babies in her 50s:

Couldn’t disagree more. Women have been blessed with the inability to have children long past when they should.

How a man dates without a vasectomy perplexes me.
I’m so happy to have a hysterectomy! I have three healthy kids and get to raise them when I’m an active part of their lives - then am free from having more!

You see it as oppression I see it as natures gift to us. And I LOVe kids/ had three in my early 30s

And I love it. We view declining fertility as a curse but what if we viewed it as a blessing? The ability to not worry about having another child is glorious. I say this as someone who married late and had one kid in my late 30s, and then chose to be one and done because given my age, I decided it was better to pour my energy into my existing child then to have more.

50 is fine when you’re that wealthy. She’ll have lots of hired help, I bet.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like you "felt" too old to pursue a second child so you didn't. AND now you are ravaged with jealousy because your time has passed. Otherwise, if you feel so fulfilled, why come here and be negative???

Naomi seems extremely dedicated to motherhood.

Also, note, celebrity Jane Syor's twins (she had at 45) are thriving, as are celebrity Adrienne Barbeau's twins (she had at 50), as are celebrity Geena Davis's twins (she had at 50), as are celebrity/supermodel Cheryl Tiegs' twins (she had at 52)
