Does anyone want to ogle this Brooklyn townhouse with me?

Yes, it's too bad. The views are gorgeous though.

I like this one better. It actually retains most of its charm. It looks like a house that real people are living in, not the presidential suite at the Intercontinental.

Mu h better.

Yes, it's an unfortunate renovation. The modern finishes are not my taste and the owner's furnishings don't help me visualize living there. I do love the large windows but don't love the black frames.

But OP if you love this, try to replicate some of the look into your design and furniture in the home that is within your budget.

I think I may have fallen in love... if I win the lottery, I want this house. The only downside is that there is no private access to a bathroom for one of the bedrooms on the fourth floor but idk, I think I could overlook that.

I hate the renovation they did. And carpet in the master bedroom? Who wants to sleep with the rugs? Big no for me.

Wow! I agree that they took away the charm but I had no idea the size of the townhouses in Brooklyn! The views are amazing in both.

The backsplash immediately bugged me too.

"Only 2 years after a gut renovation, this ... townhouse recently underwent a reinvention ... and a complete renovation of the parlor floor and kitchen."

In other words, we just devoted a huge amount of resources to ripping up a two-year old luxury renovation and putting in something different.

I'm generally pretty moderate politically, but it's stuff like this that makes me sympathetic to the "capitalism is evil" crazies.

Call me old-fashioned -- and many people do -- but I believe interiors should respect the exterior architecture -- especially when that architecture is so strongly expressed. I also see this in some townhouses in London which are gorgeous but have interiors that deny the exterior style statement.

It’s gorgeous. Would I change some things? Sure, but I love it as is if I had that kind of budget in the first place. Really an amazing gem of a place to make living in the city an easier life.

Who the heck is buying this stuff? Is it pretty common to have $14M burning a hole in your pocket?

Honestly, you couldn’t pay me $14 million dollars to live in Brooklyn, even in one of those. My sister in law lives there and no thank you!

Please come back and tell me why! We're thinking of moving there and I did a search when your response came up. Tell me more!
