I guarantee I'm more jealous than you that you only want to lose 10-15 pounds and have not had a lifelong struggle with obesity. Does that make you feel any better? |
Yeah, but there are definitely people who are well within the healthy weight range that are getting this medication too, especially if they are rich enough to afford to pay out of pocket. It's not most people or even a lot, but it's really not hard for the well-connected to find a doctor who will prescribe it for them for this purpose. |
SO WHAT???? |
+1000 so I'm not sure why they want to waste their money like that! Makes no sense. |
1) it's not true. Stop with the hyperbole and post some credible studies of most of people gaining weight back. Most stay on a maintenance dose for this reason. 2) We keep trying because we want to get/stay healthy. if you think that's a waste of money, that says a lot about your state of mind. |
The shady doctors giving to people who have 10 pounds to lose created the shortage for the people who actually need it. Some of us have some pretty scary underlying conditions and for us, this medicine is a life saver.
You’ll get your chance. They’re basically printing money with these meds- it will eventually be as easy to get as phentermine. |
I've been on this medication for five months and have lost 30 lbs. This medication is a game changer for me as it takes away the "food noise" in my head. It does have some bad side effects but you can control them by working on the food you eat. I hope to not be on it forever, but for now, it's great for me. I need to lose about 50 lbs. total. |
People who truly need this medicine don’t stop taking it. They take lower doses for life. |
It’s not getting or staying healthy to be on any medicine for a lifetime. It’s a cheat. |
I don’t see 66% gain weight back. I see this though. Rubino led a 2021 study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, that found that people who took Wegovy regained two-thirds of the weight they had lost when they went off the drug. |
I’m on it and it’s a miracle. But you wouldn’t even notice 10-15 lbs and me and I don’t care about 10-15 lbs. I just want to be out of obesity range and get my A1C to normal levels. |
So true bestie. Those type 1 diabetics on insulin and people with hypothyroid taking synthroid and those schizophrenics staying on their anti-psychotics are CHEATS |
Spoken as someone with no chronic diseases, like hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, or… Obesity. And before you claim that all of these can be treated with “just” diet and exercise (eat less and move more amirite?!!?) no. They really can’t. If people want to “cheat” their way into better health. I’m glad they can. It’s disgusting that people like you feel that keeping people healthy is a moral failing. |
Okay, don’t do it! You’re fine. This isn’t hurting you. |
