DS given melatonin gummies as prank by “friends at sleepover

This serious enough to make this kid sick and in need of medical attention. He was knocked out. He could have choked on vomit during the night. He could have been abused and not woken up (would be more concerned about that in the case of a daughter).

You’ve got to tell the parents, OP.

As a parent, if my teen did something like this I would absolutely want to know.

This is terrifying and does happen. Melatonin may not be as strong as some other sleeping pills but it’s still no joke. Especially this many.

I’d tell the parents and the coaches.

It is a crime and he could have suffered worse consequences as others stated. I would tell the parents and the coach so they can get their future Brock Turners under control now while they may have some influence over them.

Melatonin is not dangerous at all.

Yes, what's scary is they did not slip him one or two, which would be bad enough, but gave it to him and he snacked on it like candy. Adult serving size is usually 1-2 gummies and the mom said he thought he had at least 15.

He needs to appreciate the kids who appreciate him. "Cool" kids aren't so cool when they DRUG SOMEONE. Melatonin now, roofies later. Is it cool to incapacitate someone? He needs to think long and hard about why he's so desperate to be friends with people who don't actually like him.

I’d tell the coach and I expect him to run the team the whole practice until each and everyone threw up

Neither is water, but somehow people drown.

How does he know they didn’t take pics of him? Or assault him in some way?
I would totally tell the parents.

If it knocks you out and you don’t know people are doing to you it is.

I have socially awkward teen desperate for friends so I understand.

Bare minimum is that he need to get off that soccer team and find another one. He’s not safe around those kids and should never be around them.

If you can do that then I might consider not contacting the other parents.
