NP here. I started 6 weeks ago and feel nothing from it. Starting to think it just won’t work for me. I’m still at 0.5 though. Wondering if I should move up to 1.0 even though I’ve only done 2 weeks at 0.5 |
You guys I’ve been on this medication a long time. Stop reading and watching TikTok videos. Thinking the weight is just going to fall off and you’ll never be hungry. This medication is not a magic shot. It takes a while to build up in your system. I lost 150lbs, but I’ve been on it since late 2018. Set realistic goals. Generally, you will only lose 2lbs a week on average. Sometimes more sometimes less. You might even gain. If you are still drinking, stop. The medication does not lose its effectiveness over a couple a months, I’ve had boxes in my frig for 2 years, still work great. Just be patient. Take pictures of yourself to see your progress. And again, be patient. |
Thank you for posting because I thought I was going crazy!! I’m taking ozempic for T2D and it’s the same medication as Wegovy. I honestly haven’t had a ton of appetite suppression but weeks when I do, I can barely look at food and can only eat small amounts, the rest of the time I’m starving. I’m on 2.0 and it’s lowered my a1c, but I’ve only lost 20 pounds in 5 months and I’ve pretty much been hungry the whole time. I inject in my stomach. |
You are not taking medication in accordance with guidelines. |
Excuse me ma’am but everyone is different. I personally listen to my doctor and not dcum MD’s and for fisted I did 3 weeks 0.25, two weeks 0.5, one week, 0.75, two weeks 1.0, and then 2.0 onwards. I’ve never had any side effects and my a1c went from 10.1 to 4.9. |
*and personally |
May I ask where you found the starter doses? I can't find them anywhere... |
Op, I’ve been on for 6 months now, currently on 2.4 and have the same experience.
I rarely have the side effects anymore as well. I’ve lost 13lbs, so it’s been slow going. For some it’s a miraculous weight loss drug. For others, it’s a tool to help you diet. I am in the latter group. |
Same (so far). It is helping me get from meal-to-meal and stay within my daily calorie limit (1200) without feeling like I’m starving, which is what I’m happy about! |
