Why is my Hamburger Helper so runny?

Are you draining the hamburger after browning? 😬

For goodness' sake, no almond milk.

I agree with other tips -- drain the hamburger, cut back on the water, make a slurry, and/or let it cook uncovered a little longer.

I didn’t even know people still ate this stuff, lol.

Sounds like you are adding too much liquid or not cooking high or long enough.

You're not cooking long enough. Al dente is not going to work here. After you think you're done make sure you're simmering on low for another 6 minutes and then let for 2-3 minutes, stir and then serve.

Do not use more liquid then the recipe calls for. Using milk might make it "creamier" which is fine but don't use too much liquid - use a measuring cup.

*let sit for 2-3 minutes before serving

Here’s the manufacturer’s web page. They also make helper for chicken and tuna.

Wow ! They have a lot! What is the best tasting one?

As to the boxed stuff, try adding less water or a little corn starch slurry to thicken it.

That stuff sounds good!

+1! I like almond milk for my coffee and for oatmeal but wouldn't use it for Hamburger Helper or anything like that. Maybe a Stonewall Kitchen cake mix. It's likely too thin for HH.

Just think of the marketing meeting where they decided a severed body part would be the most appealing spokescreature for a ground-meat food product.

Instead of milk use water and cream cheese. It’s so good and thickens up really fast.

Dude. This thread is from a year ago. I hope she got her sauce thickened by now!

She’s still waiting.
