My family makes fun of me mercilessly. I am from the Eastern Shore, but the only one who says it this way. I blame my younger brother who when we were kids loved the knock knock joke: KK who's there banana banana who KK who's there Banana Banana who KK Who's there? Orange Orange who? Arnge you glad I didn't say banana? To make that joke work, orange has to sound sort of like aren't. Hence, arnge. |
