Do you even know any teachers? Because this is false for 99% of teachers. Yes, teachers have summers off, but summer is shorter and shorter each year. My guess is OP is talking about weekends or breaks, because weekdays are completely draining. |
Even people with kids can work evenings. |
|
| Do you ever deliver food to your students families? |
I don’t because I can’t afford to live anywhere close to where I teach. I usually dash on the weekends (Saturday and sometimes Friday although I’m exhausted then). |
| I heard that this is not uncommon in this area, teacher doing delivery side job on the weekend. |
+1, I have a family and tutor at night. |
speak for yourself. Some people have more stamina than others. Some people are workaholics. Some people like to keep busy and make money while keeping busy. When I was a new graduate many years ago I worked two jobs, low paid foot in door office job during the day and waitress by night. I worked with several others in similar situations of various ages, teachers, hill workers, etc. Some married with kids and some not. None of us were working two jobs forever. It was a bridge to the next phase, making extra money for some extra goal or another. Nothing wrong with hustling while your young or at any time in your life really. Especially if you know it’s only temporary |
Nobody said anything was wrong with it. You are really defensive. There aren’t that many teachers that could actually pull this off with a family. Without having something suffer. Are you actually a teacher? |
| Sometimes my family has to suffer because I don’t make enough from teaching to pay all of my bills. I’m not alone. |
