| Good grief. |
| How are you doing OP? I found this thread looking for one because I too had to put down our wonderful cat. He was nearly 20 and we’d had him about 19 years. He was so much more to us than a cat-a real member of the family that we first got as a couple together who then moved with us to our first home, saw the birth of our kids and watched them grow and was a friend and emotional support to us all. Like your cat, the decline was swift and he woke me up in the middle of the night yowling and unable to walk. A vet came to our home because we couldn’t bare having him leave his space. It’s so hard and awful and I’m so sad. |
| Hugs, PP. It is so hard. What a gift to give him such a loving life all the way to the end. I think when our pets transition through different stages of life with us, it creates an extra bond. They become even more like companions. Like you, my first cat was there from undergrad through my kids growing up. She was with me for so many milestones. We were lucky to have such wonderful pets. Best wishes finding your way through your grief. |
Thank you for that. |
